Inception - Saul Bass inspired Film Poster
Inspired by Saul Bass’ poster works and title sequence works, I have made a new Inception (Christopher Nolan, 2010) poster. I used the dream construction from the film to create a Saul Bass style graphic. The journey of the main characters to the deepest dream reminds me of M.C Escher’s lithograph print work, Relativity, 1953. I reestablished the dream structure of the movie into the Penrose stairs. For the typography in the title, I used the New Gothic font with the perspective linear, which is used inNorth by Northwest’s title sequence (Saul Bass, 1959). Lastly, I put a door as a symbol that helps to find a path to reality on the bottom of the poster, just like the way that Saul Bass did for the detail on his posters.
